Recognition Evening
Members of the Young People’s Advisory Group were once again recognised for their achievements, commitment and hard work for the AYP Initiative.
Members attended a Recognition Evening on Tuesday 26 February 2008 at the Aberfan Social Club and were presented with Certificates.

Activities for Young People has had the most amazing year, their achievements have gone from strength to strength building a very important young people’s environment.
After winning the WCVA Award, the Group were awarded with the Merthyr Tydfil Youth Service – “Service to the Community award”. What an accomplishment - well done to all the young people, your success is truly deserved!!!
Highest Recognition for Young People:Wales Volunteer of the Year Awards 2007GROUP CATEGORY WINNERS
Congratulations to the Young People’s Advisory Group who were recognised for their dedication, hard work and commitment to the Activities for Young People Initiative.
Members beat over 200 national entries for the Wales Council of Voluntary Action Group Category Award and were presented with their award by BBC Wales Newsreader, Jason Mohammad, on the Thursday 07 June 2007 at the Senedd Building in Cardiff Bay.
As word spread about the Group’s recognition and success, they were invited to attend the VAMT Volunteer Awards on Monday 11 June 2007 at Strikers, Merthyr Tydfil, to be presented with their certificates.
The Young People’s Advisory Group have proven that positive young people’s participation can work and is a shining example for other young people-led groups!
Congratulations to you all – you deserve it!
Isabella Smith (known to the group as Isi Warren) was presented with a special award – “YOUNG PEOPLE’S CHAMPION” for her dedication to the Group.
